House of Holland

So New Year, new fashion season. While checking out the various sales this month, I also started to notice the new season pieces arriving in my favourite stores. Urban outfitter is a great place to find diffusion lines/ designer labels that won't bankrupt you.

I have found myself lusting over pretty much everything from Henry Holland's pre SS13 collection. I love the fact that everyone seems to do some sort of cruise/transition collection to get people delving further into their pockets.

The main theme for Holland's collection is these weird little Pom Pom creatures which I adore. As per usual his collection is surreal and fun and the little critters are featured on dresses, skirts and jumpers. Check out the video below that Henry did with the Pom Pom peeps...

Here are some of my favourite looks from the House of Holland's latest collection.

The shirts are definitely the first on my hit list!!! I also hope that the shoes in these Look Book pics are for sale because they are so damn cute!!!

FL Loves KTZ

I love finding new interesting designers; my latest discovery is KTZ. The label was founded by design trio Koji Maruyama, Sasko Bezovski and Marjan Pejoski. The brand is based in the UK and they are now in their sixth season of showing at London Fashion Week. It's difficult to describe their clothing it's somewhere between high fashion and street wear.

There current collection for AW12 errs more towards the street wear, with similarities to Boy London with its white on black iconography. See pictures below:

My favourite piece is this hooded dress that costs £175. Both comfortable and fashionable the ultimate winter dress. All you need is a belt to cinch the waist in and it would be perfect.

Check out their Spring/Summer 2013 collection in the video below:

The clothing is available to buy at their Kokon To Kai shops in Soho and West London or Opening Ceromony as well as online.

British Fashion Award Nominations

Last week was my birthday, and I have to say I am quite glad it is over!! As it is always a time to re evaluate what I have been doing for the last year!!! I have been contemplating whether to change my style but it is what it is, I think that rather than being more grown up, I am going to take the last few years of my twenties and really mix it up!!!

Speaking of style/fashion (as always) me and my pal Fashion Somebody managed to get ourselves on the guest list for the announcement of the nominees for the British Fashion Awards. It was a really fun evening as it was held at the Savoy, absolutely love that place. Am planning afternoon tea there soon!
Harold Tillman reading out the nominations

Champagne was flowing, and there were canapes being served!!! It was great to be in a room some of the most influential people in fashion, and we got the opportunity to speak to Mary Katrantzou which was pretty epic! She was heading start back to the studio to work on her SS13 collection, I can't wait to see what she delivers.

Also in attendance was Jonathan Saunders, Erdem Moralioglu, Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha and JW Anderson. I am super excited about JWA's collection for Topshop (will post some images soon). The guys all seemed pretty down to earth and friendly but I was to shy to go and speak to any of them.

If you want to know who the nominees where, click on this link which will take you to the main website.

I am glad I got to go and am looking forward to attending LFW's launch party next week!!! I have not had much time to see much of New York Fashion Week, but I did see a round up of Victoria Beckhams collection, and it was spot on. You can see that she has found her our handwriting and is slowly developing this further as I saw subtle details from her AW12 collection being re worked, such as de-tached arm cuffs and boned long bodycon skirts. Anyway I will go into more detail in my next post.

Till next time...

Have you seen Raoul?

OMG, I am loving Raoul. According to their website the brand was launched in 2002 (where have I been) but I only recently clapped eyes on it in Selfridges. It is a Men's and Women's wear label producing clothing and accessories. I was of course drawn to the ladies accessories in particular the bags. See the bags below.

My favourite bag is the Candice bag because it is multi functional, wear it as a clutch or an over shoulder number. The tan version is above, but I love the pale pink version below.
This bag is soo cute and is about £250 so not to bad for a luxury fash brand. The design detail is soo unique, for example you move the circle into the middle  to open the clasp and if you want to use the handle it loops around the inside of the bag at the top and links together.

I haven't seen the clothing in person, but have picked out my favourite pieces below.

I think this brand is definitely one to watch, check out the website for yourself:Raoul Website

MSGM - OMFG

Soo my last post was about Solange Knowles showing up on my fashion radar, well I have now discovered a new Italian brand called MSGM which I am totally in love with. Apparently the brand was launched in 2008; I haven't really seen the previous collections but for SS12 the brand is spot on. A mixture of funky prints, neon colours and slick silhouettes...To me this brand is reminiscent of Marni but with a younger, fresher tenacity. The price points are also not too bad ranging from £100 - £500; I guess the same as  diffusion collections like MCG or Paul and Joe Sister. Below are some of my favourite pieces, but I am pretty sure that I would wear at least 85% of the range. I haven't seen the range on the high-street but apparently it is available at Matches and Harvey Nichols; online you can also check out Asos, Matches and thecorner.com.
You may see me strutting down Shoreditch high-street in the hounds tooth mini dress or neon yellow pleated skirt!!! Lx

New Style Crush - Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles (Beyounce's 25 year old sister) has just appeared on my radar!!! She is a DJ, musician and mother and has a wardrobe to die for. Much quirkier and fashiony than her older sister Solange mixes staple piece with bright bold colour and african prints! Her style is fun and chic and the final touch is always her directional and funky make up...check out her best bits below...She is also the latest sceleb to do the 'Today I'm Wearing' section on Vogue UK, check out the blog for style inspiration...
